Center pocket: 18–22 cm wide by 12–14 cm deep Height
Lace trim on the hem: 6–8 cm high
Width of the tie straps: 4–5 cm on each side, long enough to tie

Step-by-step instructions:

1- Planning and cutting
Cut the floral fabric for the body of the cape: 2 identical rectangular pieces (front and back) with the height you defined (60–70 cm) and width 60–70 cm.
Cut the checkered fabric for the center pocket: 1 rectangle approximately 18–22 cm wide by 12–14 cm high.
Cut the checkered fabric for the hem: a strip 6–8 cm high across the entire width of the cape (or just the bottom, depending on the desired style).
Cut tie straps: two strips 60–70 cm long each, 4–5 cm wide.
Cut lace and apply if necessary: lace for the edge of the cape, 2–3 cm wide.
Cut a scrap of 1- Interfacing (optional) to reinforce the pocket.

2- Pocket Preparation
Apply interfacing to the wrong side of the pocket fabric to make it more stable.
Fold the pocket edges 0.5 cm inwards and iron to create a hem.
Sew the pocket in the center of the front of the cover, aligning and centering it with the paper and pins. Make a pinning line around the perimeter of the pocket 0.5 cm from the edge.

3- Lace Hem Preparation
Prepare the hem strip: on the bottom edge of the cover, sew the lace to the wrong side of the piece, with the lace showing on the front.
Make a 0.5 cm hem at the top of the hem to secure the lace.
If you wish to gather the hem, add a single stitch along the top edge of the hem and pull to create gathers, adjusting to make it even.

4- Front Appliques and Finishing
At the top, position the two tie straps at the ends. Inside the side hem, so that when you fold the apron, the straps appear to tie on the oven door.
Optional: sew small bows with the plaid fabric to reinforce the rustic style, or just keep the straps plain.

5- Assembling the cover
Join the front and back pieces with the wrong sides facing in.
Align the edges and pin them together.
Sew around the edges with a 0.5 cm seam allowance, leaving an opening of about 12 cm to turn it inside out. Turn the cover right side out and close the opening with an invisible stitch or machine invisible stitch.
Sew a finishing stitch around the center hem to reinforce the aesthetic.

6- Final details
Sew a discriminating stitch on the edge of the pocket with a 0.2 cm contour line for longer durability.
Finish the edges with a straight stitch or invisible stitch.
Iron the piece well to finish.

Useful tips:

Choose scraps with a soft floral theme for the body and plaid for the pocket and hem. Charming contrast.
For a more delicate look, replace the lace trim with a finer lace.
To make it easier, use an additional layer of interfacing behind the pocket to prevent it from becoming loose.
If desired, replace the elastic tie with satin ribbons for a more sophisticated finish.
